Echo the Eco-Friendly Dragon returns to The Red Dragon Centre for a final stop.

With rising temperatures and a busy summer schedule filled with family activities, Echo the Eco-friendly Dragon couldn’t resist another stopover.

The dragon visits The Red Dragon Centre at Cardiff Bay, 1-12 August before moving back home in September.

Made entirely of recycled materials, Echo will lie just outside The Red Dragon Centre providing some great, free outdoor fun for families and visitors to the Eisteddfod.

The creators of Echo, Eggseeds will also be on hand daily between 12-5pm so families can find out more about how he was made.

Kidney Wales hosts the Nation Radio Cardiff 10k charity run in Cardiff city centre.

As one of the UK’s top road races, the Cardiff 10k race by Kidney Wales returns this September with a brand-new city centre route.

Known for its great atmosphere, the charity organises a 2k Family Fun Run and a 10k run for anyone over 15. The new route will be flatter and faster than ever before, hosting up to 10,000 runners.

The Family Fun Run starts at 9:15am whilst the Cardiff 10k starts at 10am. To register, visit https://www.cardiff10k.cymru/cardiff-10k/preregister2018/

Monmouthshire Children’s Tennis Academy Welcomes Budding Tennis Aces

The tennis season will be marked in Monmouthshire this spring-time, with the Junior Tennis Coaching Academy set to begin at Chepstow’s St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club.

The 10-week course offers the perfect opportunity to get your kids active and inspired ahead of Wimbledon 2018, with classes beginning on Saturday 21st April and running until Saturday 30th June.

Sporting activities like the Junior Tennis Coaching Academy are great for helping youngsters to develop a variety of life skills during their formative years, like working with others and building relationships.

The academy is run by fully accredited Lawn Tennis Association coach Kari Davies, who has a wealth of experience when it comes to running tennis coaching sessions for people of all ages – having planned and implemented classes for children aged 18 months old and above.

Discussing the benefits that the academy can bring to those taking part, she said: “This provides a great opportunity for children to explore tennis in a fun and safe environment that encourages them to get fit and make friends at the same time!

“Sport is a great way for kids to interact with one another as they improve both their social and technical skills through learning and playing together.

“This introduction to tennis could spark the beginning of new friendships and a life-long love affair with this wonderful sport!”

Classes last an hour and are available for children aged 4-11 years old, with sessions being tailored to suit the competency levels of the different age ranges.

For those interested in joining the academy, club members can register for £80 whilst the course is also open to non-members for £100.

The ever-popular Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival returns for 2018!

The much anticipated and highly popular Cowbridge Food and Drink Festival returns this summer, with exhibitors and food demos taking place across three locations from within the picturesque town that sits just 12 miles west of Cardiff.

This award-winning event boasts more 100 exhibition stands and attracts over 15,000 visitors to the town over an action-packed bank holiday weekend. Held over the weekend of the 27th and 28th May, this promises to be one of the premiere events of the Welsh food calendar and is a must visit for anybody with a passion for Welsh produce and great-tasting cuisine from across the globe!

Pre-booked tickets close at 8:00pm the night before the day they are for.
The festival is open 9:30am – 5:00pm on each day.

Businesses across Wales are being invited to the Swansea Business Conference in association with the Institute of Directors and the Institute of Welsh Affairs.

The conference and exhibition has been organised to celebrate all the successes of the businesses in Swansea and Swansea Bay, and to demonstrate what businesses, education institutions and social enterprises can offer.

Held at Georgian mansion, Sketty Hall, the event will be opened by esteemed editor, Lesley Williams, who successfully established The Bay Magazine as one of the most popular magazines in the bay area. Starting the conference, Ms Williams will discuss the positives of doing business in Swansea, highlighting her own success with her magazine.

Speaking about the event, Marianne Pettifor of Frogmore Consulting said: “We are excited to be holding the Swansea Business Conference. It is a great opportunity to celebrate all the business successes we have had in Swansea. The event will give other businesses the chance to network and collaborate with like-minded individuals.”
