We are happy to announce that we have teamed up with Fatsoma to be able to help our existing members and future members be able to promote events, sell tickets and reach more people through our new ticketing platform.
By partnering with Fatsoma we are now able to promote events that are listed on our website, Co promote events and also enable members that need or would benefit from the ability to sell tickets direct through our new ticketing platform powered by Fatsoma (Flat rate 10% fee charged per ticket sale). We have already got the New EventsnWales Event & Ticketing platform set up and can be used straight away. So if you would like the ability to sell tickets even if they are Free (no fee charged either) then you can and all under the EventsnWales brand. Any events that are set up through the platform we will add to the events listed so they will still have a page listed on the main website as well as being able to be searched through the fatsoma website and app. All tickets sold through our platform will help to keep our website sustainable with EventsnWales receiving a % of the fee for all those that sign up with us.
That’s not all, for those events that are happy for us to Co-Promote your event then an amount of commission can be agreed for us to help promote your event further. With designated shout outs and marketing campaigns to help. We will always send a Co Promotion request to events listed but it is entirely up to the individual event/organisation if they would like to take this up. The event will still be listed on the main website even if we are not Co-Promoting it. Any events that are listed through the new platform that we are co promoting you will be able to locate under a new menu section Co Promoted Events.
Its an exciting time for EventsnWales as we are looking to the long term for the brand and to enable us to continue to help promote all events that are listed on both platforms and this will hopefully generate the income to enable us to keep the general membership free and also provide you will a larger spread of people visiting your own event listings. Please make sure that you sign up to receive updates of our newsletters and events to keep up to date with the latest in Wales. Make sure you pop over to the new platform and follow us so you get the regular updates and others to do so too.
We look forwarded to both existing and new members and organisations being able to use the ticketing platform and have a way of selling and monitoring ticket sales without the hassle of taking payments themselves and issuing tickets or email confirmations this is hopefully your all in one solution.
It is a great feeling when you hit even a small milestone and realise that something you set out to achieve is actually happening. Before EventsnWales.com was set up and the idea of helping both large and small organisations get events to reach and be seen by a wider audience, little did we expect for the website to have had 300 Events in Wales listed within 12 Months. With around 10 days to go we have hit that milestone, we are so proud that with the support of our sponsors Harris Associates (South West) Ltd and various other organisations along the way we have been able to connect with such a wide variety of businesses, organisations, charities, groups and individuals. With the help and power of Social media we have been able to help promote all events that have been listed on the website through a number of social media streams including but not limited too Twitter, Facebook, Google+ & Pinterest as well as seeing individual events being promoted by our followers and other organisations and individuals.
What 300 Events in Wales have been listed?
We have had a Wide range of events listed on the website over the past 12 months and from the last month that looks like it will be growing all the time. We have had events in all categories and regions of Wales which is amazing and just shows that the website and social media profiles are working and being seen. We are not going to go into stats or figures those that want to find out can. We just want to continue to grow the website, Social media accounts so that your events get seen by more people both locally and further afield. That is what EventsnWales is about. It is all about promoting Events in Wales and around the country. Events can be listed as long as they take place in Wales, which means if they pass through Wales, start or finish in Wales they all count.
We are looking to push further in the next 12 months with more regular Newsletters, Blog posts from ourselves about events and also from the organisers as well either prior to an event or even after it has taken place. If you would be interested in guest bloging on the website and have an event you would love to write about please get in touch.
Once again Thank you for all the support and listing events, Without them the website and social media accounts would not have anything to promote.
It’s been a while since our last post and we wanted to say that we are amazed at the range of events in Wales that have been listed so far on the website. We would like to thank all those that have helped us spread the word of the website and social media accounts to make more people aware of them. It is great to see the range of businesses, organisations, charities, groups and individuals that are also posting as this was one of the reasons for starting the website. The reason being to help events reach more people both locally and all around Wales.
Over the last few months we have had all types of events in Wales listed from Theatre to Workshops, Sports to Tours to Christmas events. But we need more and we want to help more events reach more people. So if you know of an event in your area let them know about our website. If you don’t know the organisers of the event, let us know about it so that we can contact them.
We are also asking to find out if any of our members that list events on our website would like to either write a blog post prior to events or after the event has taken place if any are interested please get in touch with us so that we can discuss the details. Any guest blog posts will be listed in a Guest blog area with link back to your website or profiles.
More Events in Wales
So our aim for the next 12 months is to increase the amount of events in Wales that are listed on our website. This will be in the benefit of all those that already list events or have listed events as we do not completely remove old events when the dates have passed. Your events may still be found through search engines and through archives of the website. If a new event is posted which is in relation to and old event we try to link from the old event to the new one in the case that someone lands on the old event when the new one is live. This effectively gives you 2 chances to be found via search engines for that event so all helps with your event reach.
Once again we would like to say a big thank you to our Website sponsors Harris Associates and Calon Training Services as without the website sponsorship it would be extremely hard to keep the website and advertising going and be able to keep a free membership option as well.
Total Number of Events that have been listed on EventsnWales.com
So to celebrate EventsnWales.com being 6 months old we thought we would list the Top 10 Events on EventsnWales by rank of page views. This is counted every time the individual event page is viewed or loaded from the website on any device. Many factors could determine if your event has made it into our top 10 events such as
the length of time the event was listed on the website prior to the event
how popular the event is in general
if it has been searched through search engines
how many times the event page has been shared via social media and other sources
These are just a few things that can contribute to an event getting listed in the top 10 events. Many other factors exist but we have just listed some to give you an idea of things that can influence the number of page views your events page gets.
Top 10 Events on EventsnWales
#1 Race of Remembrance brought to you by Mission Motorsport – The Forces Motorsport Charity
This event tops the chart after being one of the original events listed on the website from launch and with just over 2 months to the Race of Remembrance event has been live on the website for the full 6 months. A great charity event which you can read more about by visiting the event page and see how to attend a very special remembrance Sunday service.
#2 Kidwelly Carnival 2015
The Kidwelly Carnival 2015 was held in July and was only listed a very short period prior to the event but attracted a high volume of page views since being listed. I have no doubt that they will be listing future events on our website.
#3 Rods Tour of Wales
Rod listed his solo Ride from North to South Wales on the website from launch and we can confirm that only yesterday Rod completed his 3 day, 250 mile ride for charity pop over to the original event page Rods Tour of Wales as it’s never to late to donate to the 2 charities Rod was raising money for.
Another event that was fairly limited on time prior to the date of the event, but with all you animal and especially Pug lovers around you managed to get the event into the top 10 events on eventsnwales. Feel free to have a read about the event in the event achieves PUGFEST event page.
#5 Ruthin Castle Family Fun Day
The Ruthin Castle Family Fun Day was heavily searched via search engines during the short period prior to the event listed and this helped it land a spot at number 5 in the top 10 events.
#6 Fathers Day Charity Bikeride – Raising Awareness of Prostate Cancer
This event was held in Caerleon in May this year and we have heard that the Memorial match will be part of an annual fun day held in Caerleon which will hopefully continue to be listed on EventsnWales.com if you would like to read more about the event links are provided on the old event page.
#8 Dalmatian BikeRide 2015 – St. David’s Hospice
It was the 4th year that the Dalmatian BikeRide had been held and another great event to have listed on eventsnwales and no surprise that this event made it into the top 10 events listed on EventsnWales due to the popularity of the event.
#9 South Wales Dog & Family Fun Day
With the amount of Animal lovers that also visit our website the South Wales Dog & Family Fun Day hit the last but one sport of the top 10 events even only being listed on the website for 2 months prior to the event.
#10 Laugharne Weekend 2015
As a very popular weekend the Laugharne Weekend 2015 finishes the top 10 events this has been searched a number of time through search engines.
All the above events and every event that is listed on our website is still able to be found via search engines after the date of the event. This means that by listing events on our website your details can be found for a period after and still spread the awareness of the events after the actual date. People sometimes ask but what is the benefit of this. The benefit comes from the fact that search engines still crawl the pages so your details such as website or social media pages that are linked from the event can be found allowing visitors to still connect with the companies, organisations or individuals that put on the events that have been listed.
Once again and as always we are grateful to all that list your events on the website and will continue to do all that we can to increase the exposure of EventsnWales.com, our social media accounts and all events listed on the website.
Friday the wild wet welsh weather did its best to disrupt things on Opening Night but that didn’t stop the audience coming out and having a fantastic time.
The rain didn’t faze Pollen Count who got the Festival off to a stupendous start. Then it was time for the fantastic Uncle Funk & The Boogie Wonderband to strut their stuff, and did they ever! It was Party time with a capital P. It was also the first glass free festival night which you supported wholeheartedly. Thank you.
We were thrilled to wake up on Saturday and find the sun shining for the Busking Festival. Only the second year that we’ve held it but it’s already getting a name for itself – all the Open Mic spots were booked within 10 minutes and we even had buskers from Swansea and Weston super Mare. At one point there were 15 buskers on Monnow Street! So lovely to hear and see such a wealth of talent although it made it very difficult choosing only 7 buskers to play the main stage on Sunday. A Fool & His Money turned up very early – we think they miscalculated how much time it would take for them to get here (all of a 10 minute walk) – chilled with the crew back stage and watched the audience grow and grow. To quote them it “was pretty insane to play to so many people” but you would never have known it as they gave an assuredly impressive performance.
And then Monmouth was well and truly fooified! The Uk Foo Fighters have a very loyal following and we found out why. They were just amazing, played for almost two whole hours and to cap it all are really great guys too.
Spirit’s not dampened at the Monmouth Festival
Sunday the rain was back but that didn’t dampen the town’s Carnival spirits. With plenty of things to do in town before the procession began – a tour of The Shire Hall, entry to the tower on Monnow Bridge, and a drumming workshop – people were out bright and early, and stayed to show their support for the brilliant floats, colourful walkers and vehicles in the Carnival Procession. Samba Galez brought a glimpse of calypso sun with their rumba francessa rhythms and dancing and got everyone’s feet a-tapping.
The Buskers then proceeded to wow the crowds who couldn’t believe the age and ability of some of the performers. Remember people where you saw them first as some of them could go on to great things!
And how do you round off such a fantastic weekend? With another sensational night of music of course. Bare Knuckle Parade exploded on to the stage and the audience loved their energetic music and performance. Then a band that needs no introduction – The Wurzels – closed a magnificent weekend, with the audience “ooh arring” to their hearts content.
It’s got to be one of the best opening weekends for a long time.
Don’t forget to pop along and join us, with 3 days left of the festival still lots to see and hear. For more information on whats on check the Monmouth Festival Website.
