Rugby World Cup 2015 Charity Sweepstake Cancelled

Rugby World Cup 2015 Charity Sweepstake Cancelled

So an update on our rugby world cup charity sweepstake. We are putting our hands up that we didn’t quite plan it far enough in advance to be able to get welsh businesses on board. So we would like to apologise to the 2 chosen charities that this will unfortunately not raise any funds at this time. We realised that we needed to make the decision to close the donation page as we did not want someone donating for something that could not go ahead. We will organise a fundraiser in the future for Ieuan the Lion Memorial Fund & St. Kentigern Hospice. Due too the rugby world cup charity sweepstake not actually going ahead we are happy to advise that we are awarding both the charities selected with a free 6 month advertising banner which will appear in the rotation on our blog posts and events pages of the website.

We have already contacted the charities to arrange the banners ready to go live on the website blog posts and event pages rotation and these will be live hopefully by this weekend. We hope that this helps spread the word of the charities and encourage visitors to the website to take time to visit the websites or events that are linked via the banners to find out a little more about the charities themselves.

A big thank you from EventsnWales to the charities for being so understanding and we will do what we can in the future to support you.

Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake

So the rugby world cup is nearly upon us and we have made a very late decision to try and raise money for 2 Charities that have been connected with eventsnwales.com in some way either that have listed events, had an event listed which is raising money for them or helped out on Social Media. But we need local Welsh businesses/organisations or groups to help us.

How you may ask?

The answer is a fairly simple one. We need 20 Welsh Businesses/Organisations or groups to take part in our EventsnWales.com Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake. To take part all they need to do is to donate £10 to our EventsnWales.com Virgin Money Giving Page. This will be limited to the first 20 that donate (Please can you leave a note with the company name, or twitter handle something to identify yourself so we can keep track) and they will then be entered into the sweepstake which we are hoping to draw with our website sponsors and broadcast live on Periscope on Friday. So we are looking to hopefully get a speedy response and the places taken quickly for us to get this in motion.

The 2 Chosen charities are Ieuan the Lion Memorial Fund and St Kentigern Hospice.

EventsnWales.com first became aware of the Ieuan the Lion Memorial Fund when we contacted them about the possibility of listing an event on our website for the launch of EventsnWales.com and ever since that our launch they have helped spread the word of events they have listed and eventsnwales.com in general.

We came across the second charity in a slightly different way and this was when and event posted by the Ysgol y Castell PTA and the event Castell Beat which was raising money for St Kentigern Hospice. They have followed us on social media since the event was promoted and we hope to see some of their own events on our website in the future.

Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake Prize?

We will be awarding 2 prizes for those that take part.

First prize will give the Business/Organisation or Group that have the Winning team of the Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake an Advertising Banner for 1 year (normal cost £45) which will appear on our blog posts and events pages rotation.

Second Prize will give the Business/Organisation or Group that have the team that finish Runners Up in the Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake an Advertising Banner for 6 Months (normal cost £22.50) which will appear on our blog posts and events pages rotation.

We really hope that Welsh businesses/organisations or groups will get involved and help us raise at least the £100 per charity we are aiming for and we hope to be able to provide the winners and runners up with advertising banners to help spread the word of their organisations to our visitors on EventsnWales.com.

If anyone would like to help us raise money for the 2 charities your more than welcome to donate through our fundraising page.
