Tickets Competition – The Royal Hawaiian Darts in Blaenavon
We are happy to announce that we have teamed up with Fatsoma to be able to help our existing members and future members be able to promote events, sell tickets and reach more people through our new ticketing platform.
By partnering with Fatsoma we are now able to promote events that are listed on our website, Co promote events and also enable members that need or would benefit from the ability to sell tickets direct through our new ticketing platform powered by Fatsoma (Flat rate 10% fee charged per ticket sale). We have already got the New EventsnWales Event & Ticketing platform set up and can be used straight away. So if you would like the ability to sell tickets even if they are Free (no fee charged either) then you can and all under the EventsnWales brand. Any events that are set up through the platform we will add to the events listed so they will still have a page listed on the main website as well as being able to be searched through the fatsoma website and app. All tickets sold through our platform will help to keep our website sustainable with EventsnWales receiving a % of the fee for all those that sign up with us.
That’s not all, for those events that are happy for us to Co-Promote your event then an amount of commission can be agreed for us to help promote your event further. With designated shout outs and marketing campaigns to help. We will always send a Co Promotion request to events listed but it is entirely up to the individual event/organisation if they would like to take this up. The event will still be listed on the main website even if we are not Co-Promoting it. Any events that are listed through the new platform that we are co promoting you will be able to locate under a new menu section Co Promoted Events.
Its an exciting time for EventsnWales as we are looking to the long term for the brand and to enable us to continue to help promote all events that are listed on both platforms and this will hopefully generate the income to enable us to keep the general membership free and also provide you will a larger spread of people visiting your own event listings. Please make sure that you sign up to receive updates of our newsletters and events to keep up to date with the latest in Wales. Make sure you pop over to the new platform and follow us so you get the regular updates and others to do so too.
We look forwarded to both existing and new members and organisations being able to use the ticketing platform and have a way of selling and monitoring ticket sales without the hassle of taking payments themselves and issuing tickets or email confirmations this is hopefully your all in one solution.
It’s been a while since our last post and we wanted to say that we are amazed at the range of events in Wales that have been listed so far on the website. We would like to thank all those that have helped us spread the word of the website and social media accounts to make more people aware of them. It is great to see the range of businesses, organisations, charities, groups and individuals that are also posting as this was one of the reasons for starting the website. The reason being to help events reach more people both locally and all around Wales.
Over the last few months we have had all types of events in Wales listed from Theatre to Workshops, Sports to Tours to Christmas events. But we need more and we want to help more events reach more people. So if you know of an event in your area let them know about our website. If you don’t know the organisers of the event, let us know about it so that we can contact them.
We are also asking to find out if any of our members that list events on our website would like to either write a blog post prior to events or after the event has taken place if any are interested please get in touch with us so that we can discuss the details. Any guest blog posts will be listed in a Guest blog area with link back to your website or profiles.
More Events in Wales
So our aim for the next 12 months is to increase the amount of events in Wales that are listed on our website. This will be in the benefit of all those that already list events or have listed events as we do not completely remove old events when the dates have passed. Your events may still be found through search engines and through archives of the website. If a new event is posted which is in relation to and old event we try to link from the old event to the new one in the case that someone lands on the old event when the new one is live. This effectively gives you 2 chances to be found via search engines for that event so all helps with your event reach.
Once again we would like to say a big thank you to our Website sponsors Harris Associates and Calon Training Services as without the website sponsorship it would be extremely hard to keep the website and advertising going and be able to keep a free membership option as well.
So Events n Wales has now been live for over 3 months and it is great to look back to see the range of events from around Wales that have already been listed on the website. We really do want the website to be a success and help businesses, charities, individuals and organisations to reach more people through Wales or to make more people aware of events being held. To do this we combine the fact of allowing members to list events which then become part of the website and are crawled by search engines all over the world. We make sure that we try to help the listings by making slight changes to the content or description to help with them get found on these search engines. As a result we wanted to just share a few of the different search terms that our website has shown up for and the website has made an impression on search engine results. (Results have been taken from Google Analytics)
Since 1st March (Launch of Events n Wales) until the 18th July 2015 we have made impressions on over 178 different queries which average over that period in the Top 10 for that search (325 different search queries in total). We won’t bore you with the list of the 178 but are going to list a number of them to give you an idea of the broad range of ways that people can find your listing even when not looking for it as all of the search queries present a way to the website and all the listings on it. So here goes :

And a lot more, but as you can see from some listed above by listing your event on our website you can be found when people are not searching for your actual event and this was one of our aims for setting up the website to help people reach further than they normally can. Without the help of all of those that list the events from around Wales we would have nothing to share or shout about so we thank you all for signing up for a membership and listing your own events.

We have had nearly 5,000 page views since the website was launched which is a great start, which is growing month on month. With a comparison 72.4% of new visitors to 27.6% of returning visitors from over 2,400 visitors to Events n Wales.
Our Social media accounts are also growing with over 1.7k followers on Twitter, slower over on Facebook at 346, On Pinterest we have over 300 following our boards which every event gets pinned to at least one. With only very recently set up our Google+ page we would love more followers on that Platform.
Why do we ask you to list events instead of searching for events to list ourselves?
The reason that we have the membership system and events are listed the way they are is because we want to help those that want to promote events around wales that don’t always get the opportunity to be listed on the larger websites or that have to pay to advertise the event. We want to help take some of the stress away from helping to get your events out to the public, businesses and organisations that may be interested in it. But by building the community that we are events are being shared by others that also list or connected via social media, so the reach becomes wider and the events that are listed have a more detailed description than if we just found events and listed them ourselves.
Advertising available on Events n Wales
As part of the website and to be able to keep the website free to list events we do have an Advertising membership which is open to any businesses, organisations based in Wales that may like the opportunity to advertise on the events and blog posts pages which is done on a rotation basis. You can read more about this on our membership page.
We also have Website Sponsorship available and to be honest without the support of our first website sponsors Harris Associates SW Ltd we would not have lasted this long, the hours that are put in to the website and social media and costs of running and promoting the website really do need the backing of more but we hope that this will come in time. With more sponsorship and advertising taken up the more we will be able to help promote the website through even more paid promotion and advertising and extend the reach of the events listed as well as the number of visitors to the website and promote our Website sponsors at the same time.
If you have any questions the best way to contact us is via email which you can find on the website or via our contact us page.
The Rally North Wales is only just around the corner. This fantastic event is taking place through Dolgellau and surrounding areas with both Road and stage miles included what more can you ask to see on a Saturday in March. The first cars will be setting off from centre of Dolgellau at 9am with 6 stages altogether before the return back to Dolgellau for a post-race interview with the winners. These are some of the same stages that have previously been used on the World Rally Championship – Wales Rally GB with great success so really are world class rally stages which will surely test the amazing ability of this year’s entries.
Rally North Wales is a round of numerous championships including the following:
