Rose's Garden

Rose’s Garden at Regency Hall

Rose’s Garden is another brand-new script from director Allison which focuses on Rose, an elderly lady who reluctantly admits she can’t cope on her own and moves into Cedar View Care Home. Here you’ll meet a whole host of characters including the delightfully eccentric Beattie and her dour sister, Maud. There’s Enid, mischievous Bert with his side-kick Arnie, and hopeless snob Charles whose only hope is that the new arrival will bring some much-needed class to the residence!

Of course, as in all good stories, things aren’t always as they seem and you’ll soon realise that our central character has a secret buried in her past, but we also find that carers Tom and Emma too are hiding something. This really is a heart-warming tale about a clandestine past, a lost love and how true friendship can change your life.

As with every Footlights show, music and dance help to tell the story and Rose’s Garden is peppered throughout with wonderful songs from the West End and Broadway including Chicago, Waitress, Shrek, Les Mis, and many, many more, all brought to life by musical director Clive Raymond and a fabulous live band.

Rose’s Garden opens at the Regency Hall in Saundersfoot on May 27th and runs until June 1st. Tickets are £10 each and can be purchased directly from The Regency Hall or from Little & Large in Saundersfoot, Ocky White Travel in Haverfordwest and online at www.saundersfootamdram.co.uk

A tour poster for Zoe Lyons Bald Ambition tour

Zoe Lyons: Bald Ambition – Cardigan

Zoe Lyons has kept herself busy in the last couple of years by having what can best be described as a monumental midlife crisis. It involved buying a sports car, having a brief marital separation and running a 100k ultra marathon which really didn’t end well. Along the way her hair decided the best thing to do was abandon ship. It ain’t easy being a middle aged woman: try doing it with a combover. Thankfully Zoe has been able to explore the funny side of all these twists and turns. It’s time to sell the silly car and try and put the wheels back on her life.

Zoe is the host of BBC2’s Lightning. She’s known as a star of Live at the Apollo and a regular on Have I Got News for You (BBC1), QI (BBC2), and Mock the Week (BBC2). Other credits include Celebrity Antiques Road Trip (BBC2), Stand Up and Deliver (C4), House of Games (BBC2). Zoe is an immediately recognisable voice on Radio 4 as a regular on The News Quiz, Just a Minute, The Unbelievable Truth and The Now Show, and also co-hosts Frank Skinner’s show on Absolute Radio.
