Events in Wales – EventsnWales 2019

We thought we would start the new year off with a fresh blog post, to let you know about what we have planned, to help promote the events in Wales that are listed on EventsnWales in 2019.

We have looked at a range of ways to ensure that EventsnWales is able to continue to help promote your events for free. To enable us to do this, we will be continuing with co-promoting events through the fatsoma platform which you will find on our Co promoted ticketed events in Wales page, as well as affiliated advertising (varied commission rates) and also some affiliated events in which eventsnwales will receive a 1% commission of the ticket sale cost, these are events that will be listed under the eventsnwales author and will contain a disclaimer to advise that we may receive a commission on ticket sales. These events will be mainly affiliated through ticketmaster, ticketweb and ticketmaster frontgate.  .

We looked at a number of options such as Adsense and other advertising avenues, but decided we wanted to try and earn the revenue needed solely through events taking place in Wales, Advertising of companies that we use or work with and also keep open the option to have Website Sponsors.

We will continue to promote all events that are listed on the website through our social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Google plus and also utilising YouTube when possible. We are also hoping to launch a monthly pdf which will contain the upcoming events for that month with links to our event pages and also i a direct link to purchase tickets if available. We will introduce a cut off time for events to be listed in advance to be included within the next months edition, which will also be downloadable.

We are always open to guest blog posts from bloggers that have been to events or are going to attend events in Wales so feel free to get in touch. The ability is also still available for members that list events with us to also put a blog out on our platform just shout for more information, we are more than willing to help.

Eventsnwales will continue to try and get events live within the quickest possible timescale, usually within 2-3 working days, (but occasionally this can take longer) at this point we would like to apologise for issues during the later end of 2018 and this caused a number of events not to be promoted, we were deciding if eventsnwales would continue. As you can see we were able to work through this period and hope to take it to new levels in 2019. We have also now started to add customised campaign links so that our members can identify if a website visitor has visited their website or ticket link through ours which we hope will help you identify the visitor numbers being referred from your listings and our website.

New Events in Wales for 2019

Already in 2019 we have seen new members such as impressive pr listing new events with the Hal Cruttenden – Chubster Tour at 4 venues in Wales as well as a number of other comedians, existing members the Princess Royal Theatre listing numerous events and continuing to support eventsnwales by using our service and also the amazing FOCUS Wales festival in Wrexham being listed again. Also up in the North we have the NWBA listing 2 great courses, so if you’re a business check them out, a great Contemporary Customer Service module and a Social Media Marketing Module (perhaps that’s one for us?). It’s great to also see our members helping to share other members events that are on our site either directly with their own followers or by sharing our posts on social media as this all helps your own events too by making more people aware of our website.

We are always happy to see both new and existing members posting events, as without you the website would not work and allow us to help you reach the wider communities within Wales and further afield.

So remember to pop over to all our social media accounts give us a Like, Follow, Share and invite others to do the same as we want to help your events reach as many people, businesses, groups and communities as we can and we look forward to seeing many more events listed in 2019.

New Ticketing Platform from EventsnWales

New Ticketing Platform from EventsnWales

ticketing platformWe are happy to announce that we have teamed up with Fatsoma to be able to help our existing members and future members be able to promote events, sell tickets and reach more people through our new ticketing platform.

By partnering with Fatsoma we are now able to promote events that are listed on our website, Co promote events and also enable members that need or would benefit from the ability to sell tickets direct through our new ticketing platform powered by Fatsoma (Flat rate 10% fee charged per ticket sale). We have already got the New EventsnWales Event & Ticketing platform set up and can be used straight away. So if you would like the ability to sell tickets even if they are Free (no fee charged either) then you can and all under the EventsnWales brand. Any events that are set up through the platform we will add to the events listed so they will still have a page listed on the main website as well as being able to be searched through the fatsoma website and app. All tickets sold through our platform will help to keep our website sustainable with EventsnWales receiving a % of the fee for all those that sign up with us.

That’s not all, for those events that are happy for us to Co-Promote your event then an amount of commission can be agreed for us to help promote your event further. With designated shout outs and marketing campaigns to help. We will always send a Co Promotion request to events listed but it is entirely up to the individual event/organisation if they would like to take this up. The event will still be listed on the main website even if we are not Co-Promoting it. Any events that are listed through the new platform that we are co promoting you will be able to locate under a new menu section Co Promoted Events.

ticketing platform

Its an exciting time for EventsnWales as we are looking to the long term for the brand and to enable us to continue to help promote all events that are listed on both platforms and this will hopefully generate the income to enable us to keep the general membership free and also provide you will a larger spread of people visiting your own event listings. Please make sure that you sign up to receive updates of our newsletters and events to keep up to date with the latest in Wales. Make sure you pop over to the new platform and follow us so you get the regular updates and others to do so too.

We look forwarded to both existing and new members and organisations being able to use the ticketing platform and have a way of selling and monitoring ticket sales without the hassle of taking payments themselves and issuing tickets or email confirmations this is hopefully your all in one solution.

300 Events in Wales

300 Events in Wales

A Small Milestone300 events in wales

It is a great feeling when you hit even a small milestone and realise that something you set out to achieve is actually happening. Before EventsnWales.com was set up and the idea of helping both large and small organisations get events to reach and be seen by a wider audience, little did we expect for the website to have had 300 Events in Wales listed within 12 Months. With around 10 days to go we have hit that milestone, we are so proud that with the support of our sponsors Harris Associates (South West) Ltd and various other organisations along the way we have been able to connect with such a wide variety of businesses, organisations, charities, groups and individuals. With the help and power of Social media we have been able to help promote all events that have been listed on the website through a number of social media streams including but not limited too Twitter, Facebook, Google+ & Pinterest as well as seeing individual events being promoted by our followers and other organisations and individuals.

What 300 Events in Wales have been listed?

We have had a Wide range of events listed on the website over the past 12 months and from the last month that looks like it will be growing all the time. We have had events in all categories and regions of Wales which is amazing and just shows that the website and social media profiles are working and being seen. We are not going to go into stats or figures those that want to find out can. We just want to continue to grow the website, Social media accounts so that your events get seen by more people both locally and further afield. That is what EventsnWales is about. It is all about promoting Events in Wales and around the country. Events can be listed as long as they take place in Wales, which means if they pass through Wales, start or finish in Wales they all count.

We are looking to push further in the next 12 months with more regular Newsletters, Blog posts from ourselves about events and also from the organisers as well either prior to an event or even after it has taken place. If you would be interested in guest bloging on the website and have an event you would love to write about please get in touch.

Once again Thank you for all the support and listing events, Without them the website and social media accounts would not have anything to promote.

Events in Wales

It’s been a while since our last post and we wanted to say that we are amazed at the range of events in Wales that have been listed so far on the website. We would like to thank all those that have helped us spread the word of the website and social media accounts to make more people aware of them. It is great to see the range of businesses, organisations, charities, groups and individuals that are also posting as this was one of the reasons for starting the website. The reason being to help events reach more people both locally and all around Wales.

Events in Wales

Over the last few months we have had all types of events in Wales listed from Theatre to Workshops, Sports to Tours to Christmas events. But we need more and we want to help more events reach more people. So if you know of an event in your area let them know about our website. If you don’t know the organisers of the event, let us know about it so that we can contact them.

We are also asking to find out if any of our members that list events on our website would like to either write a blog post prior to events or after the event has taken place if any are interested please get in touch with us so that we can discuss the details. Any guest blog posts will be listed in a Guest blog area with link back to your website or profiles.

More Events in WalesEvents in Wales

So our aim for the next 12 months is to increase the amount of events in Wales that are listed on our website. This will be in the benefit of all those that already list events or have listed events as we do not completely remove old events when the dates have passed. Your events may still be found through search engines and through archives of the website. If a new event is posted which is in relation to and old event we try to link from the old event to the new one in the case that someone lands on the old event when the new one is live. This effectively gives you 2 chances to be found via search engines for that event so all helps with your event reach.

Once again we would like to say a big thank you to our Website sponsors Harris Associates and Calon Training Services as without the website sponsorship it would be extremely hard to keep the website and advertising going and be able to keep a free membership option as well.

Any questions or queries please drop us an email on info@eventsnwales.com.

Rugby World Cup 2015 Charity Sweepstake Cancelled

Rugby World Cup 2015 Charity Sweepstake Cancelled

So an update on our rugby world cup charity sweepstake. We are putting our hands up that we didn’t quite plan it far enough in advance to be able to get welsh businesses on board. So we would like to apologise to the 2 chosen charities that this will unfortunately not raise any funds at this time. We realised that we needed to make the decision to close the donation page as we did not want someone donating for something that could not go ahead. We will organise a fundraiser in the future for Ieuan the Lion Memorial Fund & St. Kentigern Hospice. Due too the rugby world cup charity sweepstake not actually going ahead we are happy to advise that we are awarding both the charities selected with a free 6 month advertising banner which will appear in the rotation on our blog posts and events pages of the website.

We have already contacted the charities to arrange the banners ready to go live on the website blog posts and event pages rotation and these will be live hopefully by this weekend. We hope that this helps spread the word of the charities and encourage visitors to the website to take time to visit the websites or events that are linked via the banners to find out a little more about the charities themselves.

A big thank you from EventsnWales to the charities for being so understanding and we will do what we can in the future to support you.

Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake

Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake

So the rugby world cup is nearly upon us and we have made a very late decision to try and raise money for 2 Charities that have been connected with eventsnwales.com in some way either that have listed events, had an event listed which is raising money for them or helped out on Social Media. But we need local Welsh businesses/organisations or groups to help us.

How you may ask?

The answer is a fairly simple one. We need 20 Welsh Businesses/Organisations or groups to take part in our EventsnWales.com Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake. To take part all they need to do is to donate £10 to our EventsnWales.com Virgin Money Giving Page. This will be limited to the first 20 that donate (Please can you leave a note with the company name, or twitter handle something to identify yourself so we can keep track) and they will then be entered into the sweepstake which we are hoping to draw with our website sponsors and broadcast live on Periscope on Friday. So we are looking to hopefully get a speedy response and the places taken quickly for us to get this in motion.

The 2 Chosen charities are Ieuan the Lion Memorial Fund and St Kentigern Hospice.

EventsnWales.com first became aware of the Ieuan the Lion Memorial Fund when we contacted them about the possibility of listing an event on our website for the launch of EventsnWales.com and ever since that our launch they have helped spread the word of events they have listed and eventsnwales.com in general.

We came across the second charity in a slightly different way and this was when and event posted by the Ysgol y Castell PTA and the event Castell Beat which was raising money for St Kentigern Hospice. They have followed us on social media since the event was promoted and we hope to see some of their own events on our website in the future.

rugby world cup charity sweepstake

Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake Prize?

We will be awarding 2 prizes for those that take part.

First prize will give the Business/Organisation or Group that have the Winning team of the Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake an Advertising Banner for 1 year (normal cost £45) which will appear on our blog posts and events pages rotation.

Second Prize will give the Business/Organisation or Group that have the team that finish Runners Up in the Rugby World Cup Charity Sweepstake an Advertising Banner for 6 Months (normal cost £22.50) which will appear on our blog posts and events pages rotation.

We really hope that Welsh businesses/organisations or groups will get involved and help us raise at least the £100 per charity we are aiming for and we hope to be able to provide the winners and runners up with advertising banners to help spread the word of their organisations to our visitors on EventsnWales.com.

If anyone would like to help us raise money for the 2 charities your more than welcome to donate through our fundraising page.
